Swede
"God" is probably the greatest hoax that ever existed. But, there's always a BUT, who knows...
59LesPaul
Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days. lzfan715
I don't think that God is a person who lives in heaven above the sky. That's just nonsense. My idea of heaven is different than someone else's. So a place like that simply can't exsist. My preacher says the streets are lined in gold, and that adds to the perfect-ness. Well guess what, I don't like gold. I'm more into silver. See what I mean? Perfection is different for everyone. The God that I believe in is more of a spiritual name for something. Not a person, just the name of a force to believe. I'm definatly not Christian. I think the basis of the religion is great, accepting people for who they are, and kindness and love. However I don't believe in original sin, that a woman's place is to obey a man, and many other things. It also seems like a lot of condemnation, I don't want to feel guilty all the time. I'm not a terribly religious person, I belive more in spiritual things. I'm turn between lots of religious ideas because of the way my parents raised me. I don't mean that in a bad way, but my mom is a strong Christian; not overbearing just strong in her beliefs; and my dad is Buddhist. Again, he isn't overbearing about, just knows what he believes. Both of my parents support me in whatever I chose to believe whether or not they think it's right so long as I don't harm myself, or anyone else. wanna be drummer
Those are your material likes and dislikes; your worldly likes and dislikes What is Heaven is neither materialistic nor worldly? Then perfectness may be able to exist for everyone
lzfan715
I meant that I don't believe it's a place. I guess I could elaborate more. I believe that after you die, you can become at one with everything. Your spiritual side I am, not your body. Energy doesn't just go away because you die, something has to happen to it. It just becomes a force, I guess. I certainly don't have all the answer, nor do I have it all worked with what I believe.

Mangani
Not really, because God is eternal, not like physical/matter which has an origin and an end. This page explains it much more elegantly than moi: http://www.doesgodexist.org/Phamplets/WhoC...CreatedGod.html Thanks but that doesn't really explain anything. It's the same problem explaining how God came to be as it is explaining how a 'big bang' came to be. The only difference is that the Creationists think they have an answer when in reality they don't. Claiming something is 'eternal' is no more of an answer. That's just a belief.

Mary Hartman
I believe man invented God and in all sincerity we have more solid proof of fairies then we do of a "God." This isn't a new thing...I am not the first Athiest. I was told the other day someone didn't know how I could enjoy a day without knowing it had "another purpose." I enjoyed the morning, the afternoon and the evening just fine. Making up fairies, gouls and gods work well for fiction. Call the PD tell them you saw fairies, gouls, and goblins and soon you will have people chasing you down for a straight jacket. Call the PD and tell them you saw God and they will ask when and which church to meet you in and how much you will donate. One has as much proof as the other. It's not a bad thing knowing you have to live in reality. It's real.
