moffo
Are we being selfish in complaining about Robert Plant not wanting to make a full time return to Led? If you think about it, if you was 60 years old would you want to do something that you done more than 30 years ago?? Personally, if someone asked me to do what I was doing 10 years ago I'd tell them where to go!!! It's obvious from his track record that he likes change, variety, styles etc. and doesn't rely on Led Zeppelin to earn a £!! I think people should give him a break, grin and bear it and if he changes his mind then it's a bonus!! We can't go on living in the past. (As the great Tull once said...)!! If this has been said in a previous post I apologise.... ROCK ON!!!!!!

No one would have gone to any of his shows over the yrs without the hope of hearing Zep songs live. I have no problem with him doing other things and what not, but there is no reason he cant do both. Dont give me the BS about being 60, because thats not even old anymore!!! I am a climber and guess what I will be climbing when I am 60 just like when I was 30!!! he would be nobody without Zeppelin, and would not have the freedom to do the things he has done in his solo career without having been in Zep. The idea that he doesn't rely on Zep for Money is ridiculous!

The fans wanna c them preform again beacuse they r a legend. So maybe they can listen to they fans once and make a reunion/ new album. dpat
Are we being selfish in complaining about Robert Plant not wanting to make a full time return to Led? If this has been said in a previous post I apologise.... ROCK ON!!!!!! It if weren't for Zep, very likely Bob Plant would be a out-of-shape chartered accountant living in some suburb of Birmingham, England, married to the girl from "Ten Years Gone," and sings with a bar band once in a while on the weekends. I think the main reason he doesn't tour with the surviving members of Led Zeppelin is that he no longer can hit the high notes of his youth. He should be so grateful to have this wonderful life of his that you would maybe think he would like to give back a few months of a year to his faithful fans who gave him such a life of splendor, luxury and lavish existence. I'll say this again: I hope he don't regret it if (God forbid) Pagey or Jonesy --or even young Bonham-- pass away unexpectedly one of these years. PennyLane
I put myself in Robert's shoes: "Not this again!" "I don't need Led Zeppelin - I am Led Zeppelin; therefore, I don't have to tour. Just kiss the ring". Peace, Robert

I wrote a lengthy reply to this, and then I thought--this argument is too daft to waste bandwidth on. So I shall practice conservation (practice makes perfect ). So I shall practice conservation (practice makes perfect ). I guess we were on the same wave-length, Aqua. I wrote out a reply, and then thought, 'Sod it', and got rid of it. It's not our fault - or Robert's - that some people just can't except his decision.

ms_zeppelin94
I can't believe I'm even replying to this... But, If you were in a band when you were 20-30 something, and your childhood friend who was the drummer died when you were 32, would you want to go back 40 years later & pretend to be that band again & miss your best friend every night? "When I imagine anyone else besides Bonzo back there....just a bad taste."
longdistancewinner
Perhaps we should start an anti-Jimmy/Jonesy thread? Even it up a bit.

"When I imagine anyone else besides Bonzo back there....just a bad taste." I think it's not just missing Bonzo that has kept him from reuniting with Zep. Robert has talked many times over the years about always wanting to move forward - try new things. He has no interest in rehashing what has been and that's not to say it isn't something he's not proud of because he is, but he's done it already. Really it's carrying on the spirit that was Zep - they weren't about dishing out Whole Lotta Love part two, three or four
