Hi redrum,all,

The scene in 'The Great Santini' with Robert Duvall as a Marine fighter pilot when he's fighting with his wife in the kitchen and the 4 kids come in and gang up on him to get him to stop. The movie had many powerful scenes.

And a funny one:the 'cream of mushroom soup scene' :hysterical:

With the Admiral's wife and other women running out screaming. :D

I also liked the part where the maid punched Duvall in the shoulder.

She about knocked him over the railing. :D

"My...name...is...NEO!"

:D (Matrix I, final fight)

And the scene from Constant Gardener, when Justin is sitting on the ground and waits for his death, gets me deep every time..

Other personal favorites:

-The Loneliest Runner (this scene)

-lots of scenes from this old Russian movie:

- Legends Of The Fall (when the boys went to the war, riding)

The most powerful movie that had me crying for 15 mins AFTER the credits was LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL - La vita è bella.

SPOILER ---

The when he's still pretending as they take him away so that his son isn't scared. I could never watch it twice - it killed me a little bit inside.

Representative of the era for sure smile.gif :

That was NEVER even on my radar. A part of culture that I fortunately bypassed without even blinking.

I didn't miss a thing.

There are so many, but one gripping scene to me was when Jimmy Stewart met with a Union officer while looking for his missing son during the Civil War in "Shenandoah" and traded stories with him about their sons. That whole movie is highly underated and underknown. It's hard to recall anyone who'd ever had that much conviction in the pursuit of someone. Maybe Jack Lemmon in "Missing" came close.

This isn't so much powerful as I just think this is the funniest 5 seconds in Pulp Fiction:

It's subtle, but absolutely hilarious.

From 1:25 to 1:30

When Vincent takes a half-turn and sips his coffee after Jimmie goes off.

It's like he's trying to avoid being a part of the conversation and act nonchalant.

Cracks me the fuck up every time.

I picked up the book 'Mad Magazine in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, & 90's' and the spoof they did on the Godfather (The Oddfather) was classic. I was laughing so hard my cats thought I'd gone crazy.

Michael (Micrin) gets a phone call after Marlon Brando is shot down in the street.

Micrin (to Kay): My father is hurt bad and he's been laying in the street for 3 days!

Kay: Why don't they take him to the hospital?

Micrin: Because he won't give them his Blue Cross number!

Kay: I've heard of Mafia secrets before but that's ridiculous!

The ending in 'Galippoli'

:(

I hate that film. Makes it look like just the ANZACS were in that battle, sent to their deaths by callous Brits.

Mel 'I hate England' Fucking Gibson again.

So many myths about Gallipoli stemmed from that movie.
