Celebrating my and the mrs' 20th anniversary today. Having dinner at Ruth Chris.....can't wait for that steak!!!

Thank you to you both! Strider, I am giving her an anniversary ring - 3 large diamonds with 2 groups of 3 diamonds on either side....couldn't afford platinum on my teacher's salary, so white gold instead! I know 20 is a platinum year, but it is what it is...... ;)

Ruth Chris is all over the east coast. Been to a great one in Nashville and also one in DC, next to Reagan Airport. Anyway, thanks again - we're having a party with some of our close friends Sat. night. :)

congrats! the ring sounds beautiful!

Had a nerve root block injection on my back today and can't feel a freakin' thing in my lower body at the moment .. . It's temporary but a great big THANK YOU is in order to the doc and two nurses who looked after me today. Mucho Grasias !

hope it works well, ally! yay :cheer: to no pain!

I had that done once and had to crawl into the house. I assume you had lots of help? The stuff that numbed you is not the same as the steroid they injected you with. That will take time to kick in. Once it does if it works I would expect it to last about ten days. If it works beyond that its a real success.

Thank you 'ally', I do hope that your relief becomes permanent - but at the very least good to hear you are feeling a bit better. :)

Got up early and took advantage of the beautiful morning by hiking up to Dante's View in Griffith Park. No pictures as I left my phone and all electronic gadgetry behind. Just me and the sights and sounds of the great outdoors.

They make you walk ( if you can call it that ) out of the procedure room. Walked and felt like I was in a full leg cast without crutches :o . Mrs Ally's still laughing

Kiwi, I hope you had a great time at the ballet with your mom. :) How ironic that you posted this about going with your mom, because I just purchased two tickets (platinum seating) to go see The Eagles with my mom on May 4th!! :yay:

I haven't been to a big concert in over 20 years and she has never been to a Rock concert. We should have a blast together and that made me very happy today!....missy

Ooh Missy! That sounds so exciting!! :D I'm sure you and your mom will have a great time! Do let me know how it all pans out, ok! Sounds very exciting!! B)

Well, I got back from the ballet at about 10 PM. Out of the three short ballets, I absolutely loved the 1st one and the 3rd. The 1st was classical to the tee. Think Black Swan! Absolutely fantastic! As for the third one, well, it dated back to the 30's and 40's. It also had that cool roaring 20's influence. Very very jazzy and foot-tapping!! The 3rd ballet with all that jazzy influence (it did remind me of the kind of music they played in the musical "Chicago", although not that rauchy in the dance moves and costumes ) was my favourite of the night! :D I didn't quite get the second one though. It rather reminded me of standing back stage with a bunch of gymnasts in sweaty gym type clothing training hard for the olympics! But the second one was pretty cool too! All in all, a great way to spend a Saturday night! :)

^^^Good for you Kiwi! :) I'm glad you were able to take a break from your studies and take in a ballet with your mum. I'm going to try and see "Swan Lake" this weekend myself...either that or Monty Python's "Spamalot" musical at the Pantages.

I now have Verizon as my phone and internet provider. So Direct TV gave me a good bundles package deal. I have six free months of movie channels. Man, Cinimax is turned into porn city. Now do not jump to conclusions. I am a sports junkie and dont have time for most of these movies. But I do love movies too. There are so many its mind boggling. I have a DVR that will be busy. I may burn some that are real keepers. Classics.

Had breakfast with friends, several of which I haven't seen in quite a while. It was lovely!

Strider - see Spamalot! It's marvelous!! And the Pantages is also marvelous - at least it was when I was last there in 1980 - something :)

I have the Hangover from Hell, after Drinking far too many 'Cheeky Vimtos' but after the Amazing Night that I had at the 'Ladies Night', it is a small Price too pay...

And Leo has got his First Tooth...

oh you poor thing! i can't stand the hangovers i get after drinking. i get one after just a couple of drinks these day, so i have stopped alcohol altogether, and i don't miss it at all.

hope leos' tooth came through without too much fuss!

'Slave' the Tooth was a Nightmare they have had quite a few sleepless nights...

Glad to say it is very rare that I have too much to drink these days, but the 'Cheeky Vimto' was a bit like Drinking Pimms, and we know how potent

that can be...
