Big Klu
My arm feels weird, i'm not hungry anymore, and I hate everything you stand for and all that you hold dear. Other than that, it was a fascinating link.
Mattmc1973
that's awesome. Except replace "awesome" with "fucking disgusting".
waterwitch
Whoa! I mean, gross yes, but fascinating. I'm sick like that, always been curious about what our insides really look like. That's one hell of a snake bite to cause damage like that.
DeepBlackZeppelin
I was actually fascinated too But, human anatomy is one of my favorite subjects. And that must have been one hell of a snake, I concur

It's real. The reason why the wound is so large is because the kids arm had to be cut open to relieve the swelling, Snake bites often cause necrosis as well. manderlyh
Wow. I was raised in an area where there are plenty of rattlers. I have been told that they CAN kill you, but it's highly unlikely. I have been taught how to draw snake venom out of bites--it was something I learned at an early age. I've also been taught to move very slowly and FREEZE when you see a coiled-up rattler. In Northern Idaho, those babies get to be HUGE! Ugh. Does anyone wonder why I'm terrified of snakes? I scream and jump at the sight of a garden snake. There's a passage in My Antonia by Willa Cather where the main character slays a 6 ft snake. Ugh. My skin was literally crawling (slithering?). Georgia
First of all so sorry. Second I had to hide behind a cushion after looking at picture one. I go a funny colour and have a funny feeling about those creatures. ughhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
redeyedrichard
Wow! I didn't know a rattlesnake could do something like that. That is a phenominal amount of damage. If it did that to me I would go back and make a handbag out of it!!

redrum
Had a friend that was bitten by a brown recluse spider. He sent me similar nasty looking pics.
bigstickbonzo
My buddy who's an Army Medic said the worst wounds he's seen from Iraq have been camel spider bites which cause the skin to dry out and die and limps usually have to be amputated. They're the size of the face-huggers from Aliens.
