Do any of you like going into places solely because they play Zeppelin constantly?

So I have the crappiest summer job yet again this year... seven dollars an hour to be a hostess at Crapplebee's. Today some lady (and I use this term veheeerrry loosely) berated me for like five minutes because the restaurant was so cold that she couldn't finish her soda. She cussed, talked about the emotional torment it caused, and vowed never to come back. It was all of 70 degrees inside and my manager and I were both about to slap her. If only violence at the work place was allowed. Anyway, people like her are the reason I'm glad I'm graduating from college this fall and never have to deal with uplifting jobs like this again.

I take all of this in stride because Applebee's plays at least one Zeppelin song every four hour shift that I work. I've heard a song from every album but In Through the Out Door, and I feel no shame as I walk people to their tables whilst belting out the worst Robert Plant impersonation in existence. Achilles Last Stand helped me forget about crazy I want to live in the Sahara desert lady today.

Are there any places you guys have noticed that constantly play Zeppelin? Does it uplift you? Does it inexplicably make you forget life's problems for five minutes? Do you scare passersby by doing your own Plant?

Hi Bonzo,

Over here in London I haven't heard Zeppelin, Plant or Page music being played for a long time.

But I have seen five different Led Zeppelin Tribute Bands in the last year, all very good and authentic. I am going to see one of them again on the 19th, "Led By Zeppelin".

I have personally adopted this band and am friends with their manager Steve Monk, who shows out to me whenever I am in the audience and he sees me. That would never happen to me with Led Zeppelin, but second best is still second best, so I don't mind.

If you are interested in this band just google them at http://www.led-by-zeppelin.co.uk/ and have a look and listen, I think you might just like them if you ain't to picky. They do it for me, and my wife and kids all come along as well just to see DAD singing along to all my old favourites.

I must get some sleep, I've been on here since nine yesterday morning, what a "Billy No Mates" except you beatbo. LOL

Good Night, or morning, where ever you are, Danny

This is a coincidence. I just came home from dinner there with a friend (before I even read this thread) and was all excited because they had played "Dancing Days" during the meal.

the hard rock casino in biloxi ms plays zeppelin in a rotation of sorts. makes losing my money a little more comfortable.

btw, SAJ-i haven't gotten pics of bonzo's drumsticks yet, but i haven't forgotten. i will asap...

oh, the best place for zeppelin over the p.a. is this concert in my brain. sometimes the band plays 'fool in the rain' several hundred times until i drive off the road, get out and dance. i would do something about it like see a shrink, but he'll ask me a question about my mother and i'll end up thumping him. 'sides......it ain't so bad....

I know what you mean. In my day, when I was a D.J. in many night clubs and bars throughout the Sacramento and Los Angeles, California area, I used to play at least 6 Zeppelin songs a day. When I worked at Tower Records, I used to play Zeppelin all day everyday till midnight. ALL THE CUSTOMERS LOVED IT! They used to go in just to listen to Zeppelin.

Does coming home after a long day at work count?

I hear them all the time in Atlantic City, NJ at the casinos and on the boardwalk.

The most memorable was when I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I just got blasted and was sitting on the bench outside the front door chilling before I went in. All of a sudden I hear Rock and Roll ...out of nowhere. It was one of those moments in life. Later I noticed that they have speakers hidden in the bushes out of sight in the front area.

I used to work in a Tea-Room, in my hometown.

and every sunday, i would sneak in some of my cd's in the sound system.

i couldn't use the real ones, because they would know which ones i sneaked in :P

so i made them look exactly like the ones that were in there.

every 5 songs a Zeppelin song would pop up !

I wish! tell me where and I'll go.

My thoughts exactly! The last time I heard Zep played in these neck of the woods was at a rock disco many moons ago.

The coffee bars/restaurants/shops here either play horrid elevator music or chart pop/"rock"/r&b - soul. You rarely hear any classic rock music, let alone LZ.

Hi Bonzo,

Dan, there's actually a few pubs up my way (Hackney) that i've been in several times and had Zeppelin playing.

It was in one of these establishments where i had a most memorable moment. I had a fresh pint in my hand, Whole Lotta Love was on the Stereo, my team just scored on the footy, and my girlfriend was recalling the time she felt up her friends new fake boobs. I could've died there and then a happy man!

So in Summary, Hackney >>>>> the rest of London.
