Jahfin
Another entire band worthy of the "cool" moniker: The Replacements replete with the late Bob Stinson sporting a dress (yeah, that's where Nirvana got the idea from).

zero
i don't know.. cool in real life, or their ready for posterizing public image? depending on what's cool to you i guess, and how you will feel afterwards if they turned it on you. if you lived with your teen idol for a week you'd likely replace "cool" with "hope we never meet again" but to play along probable cool people: goerge clinton jimmy page bb king and a few others seem somewhat genuine... cool image: alice cooper kiss and whoever, im borred

Jahfin
Lenny Kravitz is douche bag. Anyone appearing in GAP commercials is not cool by any means. Willie Nelson, Ryan Adams and Luscious Jackson (among many others) have all appeared in GAP ads. It doesn't make them any less "cool" to me. Same for Dylan in the Victoria's Secret and SUV commercials. I do agree about Lenny Kravitz though.

SteveAJones
The coolest person ever in music was Jimmy Page in the 1970s. Playing sold out concerts around the world. Banging Lori Lightning at the Continental Riot House. Living in a moated country manor house. It's no contest.

Well, she was a trendsetter for American teenage fashion until Madonna came along and changed everything.
