Silver Rider
Where is this photo from? Elton and Robert 1975. Apparently this was one of at least two publicity photos taken by John D. Kalodner in 1975 in New York City. johnkalodner.com/photos/artists/1970s/eltonjohn_robertplant.jpg johnkalodner.com/photos/artists/artists_1970s.html#top Edited March 3, 2011 by Silver Rider

Chicago
Carlos Santana from Guitar magazine 10/85 " Of all the musicians I've heard after Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page is still the greatest to me. I'm finding out that vision is the most important thing. I think Jimmy Page has got the best vision for rock the way I like to play it. That's saying a lot because there are great guys out there, like Van Halen. But none of them have those mansions, those huge things that Jimmy Page makes. His vision of composition knocks me out. The way he puts chords together on Led Zeppelin right through In Through The Out Door is classic stuff. It's symphonic."

Everybody needs the light
Alot of people consider Scott Columbus of "Manowar" being the best heavy drummer of our days. He told me that Led Zep 1 and especially (my favorite) "How many more times" were the most important influence for him when he started. Everybody needs the light
In 1980 Ted Nugent told me he only liked the "old" Zeppelin records.
snapper
And that's why the Who are still going strong today, even though there's only two of the original members left? Oh yeah, they're "going strong" alright. One album in 30 years is what the Who have managed to 'produce'.

Silver Rider
i read somewhere that Justin Bieber yes Justin Bieber listen to bands like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath and Kesha the singer who sing "Tik Tok" she is so horrible idk why she is on top of the charts anyways, she said in an article that someone mistaken her as Robert Plant thank the person because she said it was a good compliment. I'm shock these young stars know who Led Zeppelin is. Even Kristen Stewart who plays Bella from the Twilight series loves Led Zeppelin it's cool she likes them but i can not stand Twilight it's everywhere and it's irritating my nerve cells real talk lol. I am absolutely sure bieber does not listen to led zeppelin...one of my freinds is a beiber addict, gets all the crappy bieber magazines, and it says nothing about him liking led zeppelin Ive always wanted to put on black sabbaths mob rules album and blast it right to biebr. I love that album.... Meh, my same friend is also obsessed with Twilight, and she says kristin likes all sots of music..she even likes music from the 40s..blach. I could have sworn i saw an article on yahoo says Justin Bieber listens to some classic rock bands oh well it must of been my crazy imagination again lol Justin Bieber on 'My World 2.0,' Fans, and His Future By Jozen Cummings blogs.wsj.com Anyone in your iPod Justin Bieber fans might not expect? I like a lot of classic rock. I like Led Zeppelin. I think they're a really good band. I like a lot of classic rock, the Beatles, AC/DC, stuff like that. cheesehead1204
Not sure if this counts but Julian Casablancas of The Strokes was wearing a Led Zeppelin (Swan Song) jacket on SNL this past week.
Vule69
Adam Baldwin (not related to the Baldwin brothers). Actor from Full Metal Jacket,Predator 2,Firefly,Chuck.... From his IMDB page: Enjoys listening to hard rock - his favorite band is Led Zeppelin. ''I need my comfort zone. I think I blew out my ears listening to Led Zeppelin in my headphones, living in my basement apartment, so I don't hear too well in crowds. I like having conversations where I don't need to go, "Huh? What?"

SummrMoon
Can't believe this thread, I started about three years ago get revived every so often. This is a great thread, SuperDave! Found this interview Chaka Khan gave to an Atlanta web mag... Creative Loafing:The first record you bought was a Led Zeppelin album. What turned you on to the group? (CK) I grew up in Hyde Park in Chicago, which was a very multiracial neighborhood. So a lot of kids that I hung out with were into all different sorts of music. One of my best girlfriends had a Led Zeppelin album, and we listened to it. And I had to go buy me a copy. I loved the drummer, John Bonham. He started me playing drums. mickey g
For whatever reason, Nugent is one jealous and vindictive bastard when it comes to Jimmy Page. Back in the early 70s, I was reading a Circus or Creem interview with Ted Nugent. What l remember from it was that he called Jimi Hendrix an asshole & said he was a better guitarist than him also. He may have been alluding to Hendrix' overdose as far as the asshole comment, but for him to think he was a better guitar player ? As the saying goes....Jimi Hendrix would blow Ted Nugent away "with his amp on standby" BTW, I'm not one of those who thinks Hendrix was the greatest ever to play guitar, there's a million who are technically better, but when you put the package together, he's hard to top in the Rock world. As the saying goes....Jimi Hendrix would blow Ted Nugent away "with his amp on standby" I think The Nuge might have softened his opinion regarding Hendrix because relatively recently he did give him respect for his playing but did not have kind things to say about his habit and what the result was. Same thing with Page. He has acknowledged that he a good player but his personal habits... Nugent is really big on the whole anti-drugs and anti-drinking thing so he doesn't mince his words when it comes to those topics regardless of how good the musician is.
