This is one of the best new shows on TV, I highly recommend it. As a person familiar with "Rez Life" I see quite a bit of truth in it. What I like is that it's not political, it's just real and real funny as well. Every cast member is just great and of course the "ancestor warrior" popping up here and there, plus Uncle Brownie steals every damn scene he is in. The guy is my hero 🙂
Strider
It is National Silent Movie Day. Consult your local TCM listings for some great silent films they are showing today and into early Thursday morning. "Flesh and the Devil". "The Battleship Potemkin". "City Lights". "The Passion of Joan of Arc". "The Wind". "The Freshman". "Sherlock, Jr.". "Sparrows".

Loved the German Expressionist films. Caligari is still IMO one of the best movies ever made and I never tire of watching it. The set pieces alone are worth the viewing, just magnificently insane. Strider
In advance of seeing the new Bond movie, I thought I had better refresh myself with the Daniel Craig-Bond story arc. I vaguely recall what happened in "Casino Royale" and "Skyfall" but "Quantum of Solace" and "Spectre" are a jumbled messy mystery in my memory. So…the first two I watched last night after the games. 2006's "Casino Royale" and 2008's "Quantum of Solace". The first thing you notice about these Daniel Craig Bond movies is that they are more grim and less fun that the usual Bond movies. Also, despite his accent, Craig's Bond does not come across as very British. He could be just another random action hero a la Jason Bourne or the Mission Impossible movies. These are also Bond movies without Miss Moneypenny and Q. "Casino Royale" was the movie that introduced most Americans to Mads Mikkelsen and 'parkour'. Eva Green makes a decent "Bond Girl". I would put her sixth…after Diana Rigg, Honor Blackman, Barbara Bach, Ursula Andress, and Judi Dench (the most memorable relationship Bond has in the Craig era). It was as I pretty much remembered…a distinct departure from the cartoonish Pierce Brosnan Bonds. But nothing special. "Quantum of Solace" seems to be the one everyone was disappointed in. Watching last night, I appreciated its brevity…only an hour and a half or so. Too many of the 140-minute plus Bond movies of the Craig era sag in the final third of the film. But everything else is a mess. The Bond song by Jack White and Alicia Keys is one of the worst (the one for "Casino Royale" was no great shakes, either). The Bond girls, Olga Kurylenko and Gemma Arterton, are big zeros. The plot isn't very believable. Are we really supposed to believe that everyone thinks Bond has turned traitor and gone rogue? Give me a break. In retrospect, "Quantum of Solace" seemed merely to be a placeholder until the next Bond film could arrive to further the 'Bond & M' story arc begun in "Casino Royale". Another thing I have noticed is that the official movie posters for the Craig Bond films are terribly boring. At least for the first two films so far, I had to find fan-made posters to find any with any flair and visual pizazz.
