AMAZONIC
I like a bit of progressive rock here and there. RUSH and DREAM THEATER are the first names that come to my mind, and the progressive bits in THE MARS VOLTA (mind you, this fantastic band cannot be labelled as progressive at all, IMO..Their music is too poliedric to be limited to one genre only).. QUEENSRYCHE, one of my favorite groups of all time, was born like a heavy metal band, but I find there are many interesting "progressive" bits in their sound too, especially on their " Operation: Mindcrime". What a Masterpiece! http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=qm0w2D8vuJQ
Rock N' Rollin' Man
I like Rush and Frank Zappa. Not many more bands come to mind but I bet there are some bands I dig that have progressive elements to some of their music.

zosodude13
I think they put King Crimson in the opposite spot, they should be number one, and then Yes should be number 2. I've been meaning to get into Camel for a bit, surprised they'd be on there though. I would included Van Der Graaf Generator, rather the Camel, personally
trm989
I love prog rock. "Epitaph" by King Crimson is one of my all-time favorite songs.
barrios
a personal favourtite: ozric tentacles, and a record called waterfall cities. can be listened to on spotify. this is the first track from waterfall cities, check out the drums at 6:00, incredible beat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4hN4VfK6LU unless im wrong they use an odd time signature for the main part, i think it's in 17/16, before going into 4/4 time. then back into the original time signature...pure prog rock ! ZPN
I'm not that familiar with it as a genre-I do love a couple albums Kansas did. I guess some people consider them prog rock and some people don't.

Swede
I'm not the greatest prog rock fan, but there are a couple of bands within the genre that I like.. Atomic Rooster is among them.
ZPN
I wouldn't call them prog rock but that's just my opinion. Whether they're prog or not, the Point of Know Return album is one of my all-time favorites. I love almost every song on it! I love parts of Leftoverture, but not every track as I do PoKR. They should get bonus points for the title "Release the Beavers"!

Ady
http://youtu.be/pfaS_r5hxnE Possibly one of the best prog bands right here and now. Yeah, I really like that band. This one don't half remind me of Starless by King Crimson. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd-M7Ea7TYg
reswati
^^^^^^^^^^^^ Best song of the record. Great that the track is finally back on youtube, since it got deleted some weeks ago. The keyboards are very Floydish at times, but there is certainly a lot of CK vibe in this one as well. (ps, the splattered vinyl version of this record is just beyond beautiful) Edited August 27, 2012 by reswati
