In my opinion, if Robert Plant really wanted to avoid his bandmates and disassociate himself from Zeppelin, he would have found an excuse to simply avoid the ceremony. I think the fact that he showed up speaks volumes.

Oh-oh, this sounds like another Led Zeppelin mistery. Honestly. I 200% agree with you on the fact that him making it to the ceremony and making photoes with his bandmates is amazing! But on the photoes he definitely avoided giving "false" hopes...And looked so much more relaxed on the photoes when alone or with another people. It seems.

There's a lot the beard hides in terms of lines and wrinkles and such--that's why a lot of guys his age wear them. ;) Makes them look younger, whatever color the beard is.

I shall grow mine all over my face then :blink::D

Just a pity I can't get hair to grow on the top of my head anymore :(

Nice photo- they look happy together, even though Dave Grohl is in the way where Jason should be. I don't see Jimmy giving Robert an evil eye b/c he's got his hand on his shoulder, either. And JPJ always has a grin which makes me wonder what he's been up to lately. Happy campers by the friendship fire, I'd say!

The great thing about guy's magazines (with the exception, of course, of adult and porn magazines... and possibly men's fitness magazines) is that they're actually co-ed. Anyone can buy 'em.

Jimmy is smiling at his friend Ross. Robert's not smiling at all.

I don't think Robert's smiled in photos since Led Zeppelin broke up.

At least, I don't recall any times he's smiled in photos since then... I think that face is Robert's perpetual look...

"I'm cool, I'm calm, I'm collected, I'm happy... yeah, man... peace and rock 'n' roll and all that... now where's my joint?..."

Now if you wanna talk about body language and smiling, does anyone else think Jonesy's smile looks really fake? In fact... it seems to me the only natural-looking smile is Jimmy's... which means nothing, then.

It does look a bit stretched, but I try not to read too much into these pictures. As lovely as it may be, maybe some people just don't like having their picture taken?

JP, JPJ and RP can't get a break off camera or in the same room together for the first time in what, 9 months?

Maybe they look uncomfortable because Grohl looks like he's standing in for Jason. That's more realistic than saying their body language reads like they're uncomfortable with each other. Add in a drunken homophobic tart, and photographers who cage them in corners like animals, and I'd look the same way as them too, if not worse!

Jimmy, John Paul and Robert deserve better than these stupid self-serving magazine award ceremonies anyway. Mojo, GQ, Classic Rock- and I'm sure I'm forgetting about 10 others- all a bunch of money makers. No wonder Robert avoids these things, and Jimmy's only excuse is he's just too damned kind-hearted so say no to anything (the Olympics ceremony proved that). Not sure why John Paul goes to these things. Maybe he's looking out for Jimmy's hands in case an album really is in the works.

But, regarding the picture, Jimmy does seem (and Dave, who I'm envying so much in that picture) genuinely happy.

I think Jonesy may have the hardest time being snapped. And I (and I'm only speculating here) think Robert may feel like a shit storm's on the way every time he's in Jimmy and Jonesy's presence. Much less being photographed with them. He doesn't look too happy, but then again, maybe's he worried we'd be doing exactly what he may not want - speculating about Led Zeppelin.

1. These magazine awards may not mean much, but it's about damn time Led Zeppelin got the recognition they deserve. Though, admittedly, it may be a bit too late.

2. I would say the Olympics was an honor for Page. At least, he says so. And, IMO, it was a good performance.

3. LOL at the JPJ and Jimmy's hand comment. :D (because I sadly cannot think of anything else to say in response... :()

I think every person on this board is envying Dave at the moment. Why else does he get so much animosity? Because of envy. That's why.

All of these shit-storms in the past have been caused by Plant, so he really doesn't have the right to be worried about one unless he's planning on causing another one.

Honestly, I don't think Plant looks upset. I think he looks... like Plant. His face seems neutral to me. Maybe it's his cool face. But it isn't negative.

You know what I think makes his face look negative? That goatee. Shave it off, and I guarantee you that face will suddenly become quite a bit more positive.

I love Dave Grohl, I saw the Foo's in 2001 (I think, it's been a while now) and not only was the band amazing, but he seems like a genuinely funny guy. I can imagine why Jimmy and Jonesy would want to perform with musicians like him - he's infectious. I think people forget he's had to rise from one notorious band to make this one his own. I'm sure it's very easy for people to constantly live in the shadow of a former band.

And, maybe Robert doesn't look unhappy, per se, but rather just aloof. And the goatee does look old on him. He needs to get rid of it.
