How was that? It was playing near me for the longest time but I somehow managed to not catch it.

It was good. It tends to sympathize towards illegals but without being too political or preachy.

Great characters. B)

Gran Torino - really liked it

... Benjamin Button - liked it too. I don't think I've ever seen a Blanchett performance I didn't like

I saw Gran Torino a few weeks back - thought it was great.

Last week I saw Watchmen with my boyfriend. He'd already read the graphic novel, so knew what was coming - I, however, did not. It was okay, and since it wasn't my type of thing to begin with, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

It's good sometimes to go into something without expectations, you tend to enjoy it more and just see it for what it is rather than compare it to graphic novel/novel/play, etc. Adaptations are always tricky, and it seems to be especially so with Moore's projects.

Alan Moore, the creator of "Watchmen" and many other great graphic novels, apparently vehemently hates the movies made from his work. I really liked "V for Vendetta", for instance, but couldn't sit through even 1/2 hour of "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". But he doesn't seem to like any of them. Maybe there are some here who know more about Moore and can comment on his position in depth. Still, there's value in just seeing and appreciating a movie for itself. Good to know that "Watchmen" doesn't just appeal to the purists :)

The last movie I saw in theaters was watchmen also. AND, my boyfriend had also read the graphic novel, so not only did he know what was coming, he had to tell me every time something was different from the book. My b/f is a dork.

If I remember my boyfriends rambling correctly. Moore didn't even want watchmen to be a movie because the story would be changed, and sure enough it was. I think the same goes for v for vendetta because it was a graphic novel first.

I used to go out with a guy like that. Notice the used to part :D

"Unforgiven" is next, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

I wonder what people are most looking forward to seeing. I really want to see the Wolverine movie (the ass who leaked it on the net is going to be blacklisted when caught), and also "Iron Man II" (LOVE Downey Jr.), "Public Enemies", and "Imanigarium..."

I watched Gone With the Wind. I hadn't seen it in a million years, but I do love that movie. Accuracy aside, it really gives you an appreciation of what people went through during the Civil War. There's that one shot of Scarlett in Atlanta asking the doctor, who is administering to the wounded, to come and help Melanie deliver her baby, and it's focused in on her and the doctor. Then it pulls back to an aerial view, and it's just this total "OH SHIT" moment because there are dying soldiers laid out in rows on the ground as far as you can see. Please, let's never repeat that again. :( I love you guys, North and South!

That was kind of an unhappy thought...uh, to put it back into lighter territory, am I the only one who likes Ashley Wilkes better than Rhett Butler? I mean, Clark Gable is a way better-looking guy, but there's something sexy about Ashley and his divided mind. I love watching him go back and forth between his loyalty to Melanie and his lust (or possibly love) for Scarlett. Puts a little sizzle in the skillet, ya know?

I watched Zach and Miri make a porno. I really liked it. It's sort of a chick flick, but crude enough for a guy, which seems like Kevin Smith's specialty. There's always got to be a love story going on in midst of penis and fart jokes. But he's never let me down before!

Public Enemies, oh yes!!!!!Now THIS is the one I am looking forward to the most although it doesn't come out until July. Johnny Depp is my honey, plus Christian Bale (yummy) will be in it also. I cannot wait!! Should be an awesome flick of course with these two very talented and gorgeous actors.:D

Yeeeeeesssss!!! Same here. Those are two of my all-time favorite actors, and I love gangster movies, so I am all over this. And hey, even if it sucks, that is going to be one fine-lookin' movie! ;)

I'm kinda looking forward to the new Star Trek movie, as well as Wolverine. Oh! And Inglourious Basterds. That is going to be epic. Whether it's epically good or epically bad remains to be seen, but you know Tarantino isn't going to do things halfway, whatever the outcome.
