in_the_evening
Supposed to get somewhere between six and twelve inches of snow tomorrow. TypeO and the rest of you in Southeast US please be super careful. Ice storms are the worst, losing power sucks, but the roads will be absolutely hazardous....

redrum
DALLAS ~ SNOWING ~ 16 DEGREES F About a week ago we had 75 mph wind gusts at the Enumclaw Middle School weather station and it got down to minus 14. A few days later we had snow and now it's in the 50's. Craziest weather I've ever seen.
Virginia
Expecting somewhere between 10-16" of snow through tomorrow; it's snowing like crazy!
jabe
Good thing the intelligentsia retweaked "global warming" to "climate change". Have about 2'' of white fluff in my yard. (edited for my shitty spelling) Edited February 13, 2014 by jabe
OzzyIsDio
It's snowing right this minute as I type these words, I love the cold and snow! Which reminds me: Ah, ah we come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.
Plantpothead
It's actually SUNNY, not windy and quite mild at the moment.
Virginia
We have about a foot of snow, gusty winds, and we're getting freezing rain. It's supposed to change back to snow at some point, with more accumulation likely. Pretty much the entire commonwealth of Virginia is closed today. Even my husband is home (that NEVER happens!). Getting ready to sled down our street with our youngest Have a good day and stay safe/warm everyone!

Walter
That's quite a picture, ebk! Reminds me of when I was young and living in the "snow belt" region of upstate NY. Be safe!
paul carruthers
Cold and windy, the kind of day I feel is right to be out and about; going for a long walk in the breeze. 39 degrees...

ebk
Do you have wine on hand? Bless your heart I'm going with beer today. Took us about 2.5 hours to clear a path, sweep off the cars and get some snow off the roof so it doesn't dam up. Well...my husband actually did the last part. At the moment I'm watching hockey and enjoying a Dogfish Head Burton Baton.
planted
Just got a report that people are abandoning their cars on a local highway here. Still waiting for our son to get home from the Boston area.

ebk
Pinot noir here! Nice to see you again, E! xo Hey there girlfriend! Nice to be back. I bought a mixed six pack of stouts and figured today was as good a day as any to drink them. Unfortunately, they were still in the basement, so while they are chilling, I'm drinking the DFH. Such sacrifices I make... We got 17 inches out front. Quite the shoveling experience... I hope your son gets home safe and soon!! xo Edited February 13, 2014 by ebk
Walter
Me too Planted! Glad you are relaxing at home after all that shoveling, ebk! Take care everybody!

Just imagine those folks in Georgia driving in these conditions. They are not used to it so mass panic is imminent. Road rage galore I am sure.
OzzyIsDio
Yeah we got pounded, they didn't do too good of a job plowing either, despite all the digging out I did yesterday to be able to make it to work, I'm stuck in my lot because my street that gives me access to the main road wasn't plowed.
