paul carruthers Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Would it be too obvious to say The Rain Song. That's the only one I can think of at the moment. Quote
Led Zep Girl Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I know this might be over rated but, it's such a sad song that it's good. Especially at the end. Quote
in_the_evening Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Not my fave, but Terry Jacks "Seasons in the Sun" is uber-sad. Quote
joe (Liverpool) Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 A few by Harry Chapin were mentioned, how about Mr Tanner, and A better place to be. Quote

apantherfrommd Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) http://youtu.be/pqvJhSIHu9QPlayground school bell rings again,Rain clouds come to play again,Has no one told you she's not breathing?Hello, I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to,Hello...If I smile and don't believe,Soon I know I'll wake from this dream,Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken,Hello, I'm the lie, living for you so you can hide,I don´t cry...Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping,Hello, I'm still here,All that's left of yesterday...It's interesting Kiwi. I was listening to a cd the other day that my late sister made for me. My only sis. This was the first track on the cd she made for me. She gave me the cd while she was dying. She was 24 when she passed away in a couple years ago. What I just found out recently was that the song happened to be written about losing a sister to a premature death. Charles J. White Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Gordon Lightfoot is a hero to many Canucks. I don't think his music is understood in America or England. but here in the Dominion, he is a hero. He played some gigs recently across Canada and it was great. He is almost 80 years old, but he still has it!!!! Excellent choice, another classic. When I was younger I drove across Canada and it was one Gordon Lightfoot cassette being played in the car after another. He has a cool working class voice, and pens some cool songs. Quote
