Jay Leno disses Plant, says he looks like The Cowardly Lion from Wizard of Oz

Things like this don't bother me. I don't agree but that's what comedians do - poke fun at others. Like Craig Ferguson saying whatever he said about Jimmy. It was in good spirit. As an aside, I'm not a fan of either Jay Leno or especially Howard Stern but they pretty well have a go at everyone.

<H1 class=contentTitle>Grammy Winners Robert Plant and Alison Krauss Discussed on Howard Stern 2/9/09</H1>February 09, 2009 10:27 AM EST (Updated: February 09, 2009 03:36 PM EST) views: 371 | rating: 8.6/10 (10 votes) | comments: 18 function resetForm(formId){ var form = document.getElementById(formId); if(form) { form.reset(); }}inter.jpgGrammy winners Robert Plant and Alison Krauss were dissected today on Howard Stern. Stern said Robert Plant is unrecognizable from his former Led Zeppelin self. Stern said he remembered when Robert Plant wore belly shirts and platform shoes, he said now Robert Plant looks like he's from somewhere in "Middle Earth". Howard went on to say Robert Plant looks so bad, he could have starred in "The Wrestler" and, just like Mickey Rourke, he wouldn't have had to wear any make-up. The Stern Show Grammy dissection continued when the crew admitted none of them had any idea who Alison Krauss was.

inter.jpgRobert Plant, the 60-year-old lead singer of the iconic rock band Led Zeppelin, and 37-year-old bluegrass fiddler Alison Krauss teamed up last year to release the CD "Raising Sun" - the collaboration earned the unlikely pair five Grammy Awards last night. Robert Plant said "In the old days we would have called this selling out. But it's a nice way to spend a Sunday." The Stern crew got a kick out of that.

Alison Krauss was actually on Gather last April promoting the "Raising Sand" CD. If you'd like, you can read Alison's posts about working with Robert Plant and check out her Gather profile.

Peace & Love

When you get shots taken at you like this, a lot of times it means your getting deserved notoriety and are at the forefront. I'm sure Robert just laughs this stuff off as he has appeared on Leno a few times. I wouldn't make too much of it.

Good point- agreed. It comes with the territory... Great territory to be in!

Agreed... I would rather see Robert catching some attention (whether it be good, bad or indifferent) any day over having to hear another repeat story about fucking twits like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, or <insert celeb whorebag here>.

How are these dumb broads still getting attention? I can already predict tomorrow's news. Lindsay Lohan will wreck a BMW, and some over-payed millionaire soccer player will get with some shitty 1990's pop star. A little played out by now, no?

At least the Obamanator is stealing a little bit of their thunder.., though he's getting old already...

Anyways, congrats Robert. Despite what a lot of people thought about it, you stuck with your guns and won 5 Grammys... I can't really think of a bigger way to give em all the middle finger.

I like this one more:

wow, that "beard of the century", or whatever, really looks like Theoden's. :coffee: Plant is the King of Retort... Brilliant, as usual. I wonder what it's like translating his press conferences in some non-English speaking country. I would never want to be in his translator's shoes...

I think James Hetfield resembles The Cowardly Lion more.

I agree Roxie....James it is....

If I was James I would be flattered to be likened to an icon like the Lion from The Wizard of Oz..

Juliet :coffee:

PS Jay Leno....you need to retire sooner rather than later.. Bring on Conan...HE'S GOT CLASS..until then I'll sleep rather than watch your show...

That's because America is obsessed with celebrities and anything they do. It has nothing to do with talent. So many are just famous for being famous. Look at all the reality shit these days like American Idol and Dancing With The Stars. And there's worse than that. Just a start. So many people are caught up in these award shows and what these twits were wearing at the show. Who cares?

At least some were awarded for their talent and achievements this year. I can think of two!
